In previous episodes of Wisco Weekly, the power that mentorship has on shepherding new leaders in automotive has been discussed in passing with various guests. In this episode, host Dennis Wisco welcomes automotiveMastermind's Vice President, Giorgia Favaretto-Illig, to delve deeper into the phenomena of mentorship, and how companies are re-prioritizing creating space for mentor-mentee partnerships in order to bring up their next generation of leaders. This episode was recorded at the National Automobile Dealer's Association Conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Originally from Venice, Italy, Giorgia is the Vice President of Marketing at automotiveMastermind. Well-versed in global business and marketing, Giorgia holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business administration from The University of Venice CA'Foscari, a certificate in marketing from the University of San Diego, and is fluent in English, Italian, and French. Before joining the automotiveMastermind team in 2018, Giorgia was the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing and Operations with Thomson Reuters. At automotiveMastermind, Giorgia oversees brand, digital, and event marketing teams, collaborating with all units to ensure that the company's message is presented cohesively across channels. Giorgia is proud to be a leader in automotiveMastermind's endeavor to create a more formal mentorship program within the company. Inspired to get the program off the ground by her experiences participating as both a mentee and mentor, Giorgia brings more than a decade of experience in marketing, implementing marketing strategies, and cross-channel demand generation programs. Tune in to this episode as Dennis and Giorgia address the integral moving parts that contribute to starting a successful mentorship program. They explore the ins-and-outs of how companies within the industry can re-think the way they run their mentorship programs, and what makes for a productive mentor-mentee relationship. Most importantly, they discuss what mentorship programs bring to the table for industry leaders, and how the introduction of mentorship programs into the industry's leading companies are shaping the business models for the mobility of people and goods.
